Faced with the challenges of climate change, increased energy demand and higher fossil fuels’ price, the EU and ASEAN are stepping up their cooperation in the green energy domain. At the EU-ASEAN Commemorative Summit of 14 December 2022, leaders reaffirmed their partnership and commitment to accelerate the roll-out of renewable energy sources.
The twin transition of green and digital presents a tremendous opportunity to build together more sustainable, smart, clean, and efficient energy systems. This transition brings many opportunities, but also comes with challenges, such as financial, technical, and regulatory barriers as well as cyber security risks, that require forward-looking responses.
