Our CICP Executive Director, Amb. Pou Sothirak, gave his input on the Myanmar issue to Khmer Times regarding the execution of the four pro-democracy activitists in Myanmar that was happened recently.
Amb. Pou Sothirak believed that the junta is “indulging in an atrocity that is difficult to reverse because it does not want protests from the opposition and people…Asean is considering its position. The Myanmar government is not cooperating with Asean because they are not really willing to solve problems in their country. They know for a fact that if there is an election, they will not be able to defeat Aung San Suu Kyi’s party”.
