CICP hosted lecture on Peace and Security in Indo-Pacific Asia by Prof. Sorpong Peou | 5 Aug 2021

Posted date: August 5, 2021

During a CICP organized online lecture, Dr. Sorpong Peou, Professor, Ryerson University and Distinguished Senior Fellow, CICP, argued that the region is not ripe for sustainable peace and lasting security, and defensive containment by major Democratic states will be the future strategy until China is moving towards a stable democracy. The participants learned a great deal how peace and security can be maintained through diverse set of IR theoretical perspectives, particularly the reemergence of realism centering on the rise of China and the decline of the US. The talk was open with interesting and interactive discussions among participants and the distinguished speaker.
