Virtual Public Lecture on How can International Mechanisms be effectively applied in the National Context to Prevent Atrocities? | 20 July 2021

H.E. Yuyun Wahyuningrum, Indonesia AICHR Rep and Mr. Soy Kimsan, Director of the Center for the Study of Humanitarian Law at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, spoke eloquently at the CICP-organized online lecture on “How international mechanisms can be effectively applied in the national context?” on 20 July 2021. The participants were expose to the crisis in Myanmar inflicted by the military Coup in February this year. They learned a great deal above state obligations to protect civilians under the Geneva Convention and what the UN, ASEAN, and regional states such as Cambodia should do to help Myanmar. Our online viewer also gained clearer appreciation of how has ASEAN responses through the Five-Point Consensus.
