On 14 September 2020, Top experts were invited to discuss on challenges and future prospects of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) during a CICP-organized Virtual Seminar to commemorate 15th Anniversary of R2P. One key takeaway of the online meeting was that after 15 years of the R2P adoption, the pressing challenge rests on its implementation. While the international community has roles to help promote the norm, states hold the primary responsibility to prevent mass atrocities from happening.
