CICP Executive Director shared his views on the US – ASEAN relations

CICP Executive Director, Amb. Pou Sothirak has shared his opinion piece in the South China Morning Post titled “Biden must emphasise Washington’s commitment to ASEAN and the bloc’s importance to US foreign policy at summit”.

The opinion piece explains why ASEAN needs the US and how the regional bloc lay out its plan without disregarding China’s regional interests. Moreover, the opinion piece also explains how ASEAN sought to open up the region in a way that the US can maintain more visible appearance to balance China’s relentless influence.
