About East Asia Research Center:

East Asia region, home to some of the world's largest, most technologically advanced and most prosperous economies, is still facing dire challenges with ongoing traditional and non-traditional threats that continue to emerge, affecting regional peace, stability and prosperity. It is important to better understand how this region advances its critical role in shaping public policies while it interact with other countries in Southeast Asia as well as with other major powers.

It is in this context that the East Asia Research Centre is established as a subunit of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace. The purpose of the East Asia Research Centre is to serve as the focal point for research, networking, publication, and outreach activities relating to East Asia, particularly a region comprising the three northeast Asian countries of China, Japan, and Republic of Korea, as well as the 10 Southeast Asian countries. The Centre aspires to provide clear and scholarly analysis that would address critical challenges confrontingthe East Asia region.
